Ukraine’s New Managers

We, 15 Ukrainian civil servants from the President’s Administration, the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, the Ministry of Industrial Policy and the National Bank of Ukraine had the opportunity between April and October 2014 to complete an internship in the GIZ GmbH training programme for young managers of the Government of Ukraine. Projects with Ukraine

As a result of the difficult geopolitical situation, the Ukrainian hryvnia is continuing to lose its value against the euro and dollar. This, in turn, is restricting the buying power of Ukrainian companies. Major purchases such as textiles machines, brewery equipment or automation technology would only be affordable in six months at the earliest, regretted the Ukrainian training participants. Alexander Sadurskiy, who is responsible for purchasing, sales and business development at Tomig in Ukraine, was looking for new ways to make the company more crisis resilient and to maximise the profitability of its leather and pelt processing.
