On the twentieth and twenty-first of March, 2015 exactly 100 of the BMWi Manager Training Programme\u2019s 342 Vietnamese graduates attended the Fifth Alumni Get-Together on the Vietnamese island of Phu Quoc. The alumni present were eager to share their experiences and new ideas and spoke with representatives from the German Embassy to Vietnam, the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi), AHK Vietnam and GTAI Hanoi.<\/p>\n

The seminars and workshops held by the German education centres IHK Academy for Munich and Upper Bavaria, the German Management Academy of Lower Saxony (DMAN) and Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg International (bw-i) covering the topics corporate social responsibility, successful project management and change management were all well attended.<\/p>\n

\"\"Contributions from Antje Resech from AHK Vietnam and Thomas Hundt from GTAI Hanoi presenting the opportunities for cooperation and networking in both organisations with Vietnamese companies that already work with German companies or plan to in future were especially well received. Claudio Dordi also provided an interesting overview of the challenges and opportunities awaiting Vietnamese and European companies in the short, middle and long term as soon as the free trade agreement that has been the subject of negotiation between the EU and Vietnam since 2012 is signed. Claudio Dordi is the team leader of the EU project \u201cEuropean Trade Policy and Investment Support Project (EU-MUTRAP)\u201d.<\/p>\n

Outcomes from this conference will help give economic cooperation between Germany and Vietnam useful impulses. Hans-J\u00f6rg Brunner from the German Embassy in Hanoi praised the event\u2019s unique atmosphere at the event and in Vietnam\u2019s management training programme as a whole both this year and last. The fact that about one third of the alumni participated is evidence of how highly the Vietnamese managers esteem this programme. This event was held by the GIZ and its Vietnamese partner, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI).<\/p>\n
