Meerim Sydykova has worked in the travel industry since 2005. Her employer, travel agent Bilet, represents the second largest Russian airline in Kyrgyzstan, S7 Airlines. The company is currently expanding its range of services to offer package tours and tailor-made trips in addition to flights. Meerim Sydykova is responsible for developing these sectors.<\/p>\n
Sydykova applied for the training programme in Germany in order to acquire suppliers of different travel services and to enhance her own leadership skills. Whilst on the scheme, she visited a Hanover-based company and familiarised herself with the hotel and apartment online booking system. This paid off doubly, because the Hanover company became Bilet\u2019s partner for worldwide hotel reservations.<\/p>\n
Sydykova and two of her colleagues now design and operate individual and group travel to the most popular tourist destinations. Her many years of experience and good contacts mean she is able to offer competitive prices, and she uses targeted Internet marketing to boost the company\u2019s profile. In 2010, Bilet began offering an online booking option in addition to its 15 offices in Kyrgyzstan and branches in Moscow and Almaty.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur customers can now book flights, reserve hire cars and hotels, and pay by credit card or bank transfer worldwide. It is also possible to make cashless payments in our offices in Bishkek.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat we should definitely learn from our German colleagues is the identification with one\u2019s own company and the sense of team spirit,\u201d Sydykova says. \u201cThis will help us to further boost our sales and to become number one in ticket sales.\u201d<\/p>\n
