Import contracts in the double-digit million range for open-pit mine reclamation, personnel management and filter systems<\/p>\n

A total of 83 individual business contacts, 15 company visits and 7 full-day training sessions, with \u20ac14 million contracts in the works! These are the fruits of the visit some Russian managers paid to GICON-InTraBiD GmbH. The group attended the continuing education program in June at the firm\u2019s premises in Dresden.<\/p>\n

The four-week program included, among other activities, group visits to companies in Saxony and full-day training sessions, for example on intercultural communication, financing of international business relations, and HR management. The GICON-InTraBiD team organised a total of 83 individual meetings with potential German business partners, which have already resulted in three signed contracts and an additional 33 import contracts in the pipeline, for a total amount of \u20ac14 million over the next two years.<\/p>\n

\"\"Engineering skills and soft skills equally sought after<\/strong>
\nYevgeniy Khilus, manager of a project development company, places value on German know-how. He has plans to produce cement from the fly ash of the coal-based thermal power plant in Novokuznetsk, Western Siberia, and is particularly interested in modern filter and pneumatic transport systems. He hopes to purchase 1 million euros worth of technology from various German manufacturers (IEM F\u00f6rdertechnik, Intercem Engineering GmbH).<\/p>\n

Irina Sazonova is the owner of a personnel management consultancy firm called motive.expert in Tomsk. She used the training sessions and company visits to learn new strategies for employee motivation, and is going to set up a joint international consulting company with Dr. Sandra Wolf, the program\u2018s personnel management trainer. Haensch Business School GmbH, in the Russian Federation, has also commissioned her to offer the business planning simulation game used at GICON-InTraBiD.<\/p>\n

Visit to the Cottbuser Ostsee Lake \u2013 GICON receives advance inquiries for reclamation<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"One of the highlights of the stay was the excursion to the Cottbuser Ostsee Lake, led by Thomas Sch\u00fctze (LEAG) und Heike Beutler (GICON). This manmade lake, which is to be completed over the coming years and will be Germany\u2019s largest, will be created after flooding the Cottbus-Nord open pit mine. The participants were introduced to technologies for securing and conceptualising former open pit lignite mines, along with procedures for planning open pit mine reclamation and repurposing post-mining landscapes. Several representatives of Russian mining companies from Kuzbass (Siberia) have already signaled their interest, and approached GICON with advance requests for consultation on reclamation projects.<\/p>\n
