Poltawa-Ski designs and constructs ski centres in Ukraine, offering services ranging from supply and assembly, to maintenance of the funicular lifts they build. Participation in the BMWi Manager Training Programme primarily helped Kateryna Murakhovska improve her intercultural skills and develop lasting relationships with German companies.<\/p>\n
One of the companies Murakhovska got to know in Germany is a chair and tow lift manufacturer headquartered in the Bavarian municipality of Lenggries. Having completed an internship there in autumn 2006 she returned to Poltawa-Ski which began working with the German company and now offers its products through a national distribution network of more than 50 ski centre operators in the Ukraine.<\/p>\n
Contact with a leading provider of piste and trail grooming machines also proved successful. Since May 2007 Poltawa-Ski has not only acted as general agent for the sale of the internationally renowned piste vehicles, but also takes care of vehicle maintenance. A spare parts warehouse was built for this purpose and mechanics were trained in vehicle maintenance. To date, both German companies have sold equipment, vehicles and spare parts worth many thousand euros via their distribution partner in the Ukraine.<\/p>\n
Murakhovska is an active alumni member and participates in further training seminars and conferences. She finds these sessions invaluable: \u201cI learned of and evaluated other participants\u2019 experience in the alumni work.\u201d<\/p>\n
Her foreign trade management expertise has helped the talented manager acquire further partners in Europe and new clients in Georgia.<\/p>\n
